Hey guys, as promised, here is the footage from Day 2 of the OpenLabs Live Broadcast. This time around we did a slow r&b/pop ballad and then remixed it towards the end. We also got Dave from OpenLabs to lay down some guitars, straight into the Neko, live on the spot. This video is a bit longer and more in depth of our beatmaking process. Whats good people, here is the long awaited footage from the live broadcast we
did @ OpenLabs back in June. This is day 1 of the 3 day broadcast and we had enough time to do 2 tracks live on the spot, just feelin it out. First beat was kind of an uptempo urban/pop track and the second one is more of a darker hiphop vibe. We then went back on the broadcast later on in the day and did a 3rd beat, which you can see below as well, thanks to Abb from Openlabs for editing and posting. This was our first time working on the Neko and we just have to say that its an incredible machine, Quad Core, 1 Terabyte of HD Space, 4Gb of ram, more then you need to do almost anything, like this video, which was edited entirely on the Neko :) . Anyone who is looking to upgrade their setup, make sure to go check out the Neko & Miko keyboards. The broadcast was a blast and we got to meet some new people including the whole OpenLabs staff, who are an amazing bunch and some of the featured broadcast artists/producers. Whats good everyone, sorry for the late update as usual. We were caught up with finishing school and Pizzi’s internship @ Columbia Records. Finally here is the making of Kelly Rowland’s “Love” record. This is our 2nd major placement this year. The album came out July 3rd and there still might possibly be a re-release, not sure though. We decided to somewhat include sheet music in the video for those of you who would like to try and follow along. The song can be found on our MySpace for those of you who would like to hear it in full. Also our remix to Justin Timberlake’s “lovestoned” has been released by Jive already and we should be making a video of that pretty soon so stay tuned and subscribe if you havent already. Today we had a production/writing/recording session with an artist from Detroit named UneSS. He’s in town for a week and we most definitely had to do a session, the outcome was magic. Chemistry was real good, check out the video to see us in action makin the beat from scratch to final product. We’re trying to get another session in this week before his departure saturday. Hopefully this track will be one of the many to come out of our new relationship with the very talented UneSS.

P.S. UneSS is not talking on his sidekick in all the recording shots, he actually wrote all his lyrics on the sk ;)

Today we made a beat to an acapella we got from an upcoming rapper from Chicago named Young Blaze. He impressed us with his songs, so we decided to lay something down for him. Later that night we was working on some tracks with Qasual, and upon hearing our Young Blaze remix, he decided to lay down a hook idea that came to him. We got everything in the video so enjoy.
