Mysto & Pizzi back from LA, trip recap + pics
Whats good people, we’re back from LA, back on the grind here in NY. We just wanted to post a quick recap of what we did in LA and mention all the great people we got to meet and work with. First off we just gotta say we had great and productive trip. We returned with about 5 banging new songs and couple hot new beats. Day 1 we aint get to do much and unfortunately missed the BMI awards, which we didnt even know were on the same day we got in. We did however get to kick it with our boy PDflo a bit and talk about a new movie he’s working on, a musical, for which we’re gonna be doing alot of the music for, cant wait to get started on that, its gonna be big!. Day 2 we had 2 songwriting sessions, first one was with BWB who wrote “Damaged” for Danity Kane, great session and great team, we got a real nice mid-ballad done. Second session was with The Woodworks, a new upcoming songwriting group from Inglewood, LA, they got a song on the new Pussycat Dolls album called “Take over the world”. We had an amazing session with them, got 2 bangas done in only a couple hours. We definitely look forward to working with them again. Day 3 we went in with Brent to work on some fresh new tracks, came out with a crazy joint, some electro/pop mixed with rock, gonna be a crazy record once its finished. We then met up with Wynter and her manager Kieth and kicked it for a while @ PF Changs, dope chinese food restaurant/chain. Day 4 we finally got to meet Corey ‘Latif’ Williams. He’s a dope songwriter with whom we already had a song that Cassie recorded in the past but never met before, only spoke on phone and email, so it was great to finally meet, kick it a bit and listen to some tracks in our hotel studio. After that we just chilled a bit and got ready for the VMA afterpartys. We ended up going to the Pepsi Blue carpet official VMA afterparty where Tyga, Keri Hilson, Mario and Ryan Leslie performed. It was pretty cool, Keri killed it on her performance as well as Ryan Leslie, especially when he braught out Fabolous. We also ran into couple people we know like Ethiopia, KP, and Latif as well as got a chance to meet Danja, overall it was a great and fun night. Day 5 we had an all day session with Taj Jackson and banged out a crazy record for an artist they are currently working with named Alex Young. For those who dont know, Taj has written several big records including Elliot Yamin’s “Wait for you”, Mario’s “How can i breathe”, Lionel Richie’s “I Call it love” and Joe’s “If i was your man” as well as many other smashes, it was a pleasure working with him and as usual we came up with another smash, we’re supposed to be recording the song with Alex next sunday. Afterwards we went out with Taj, his manager Jae, Alex and several other people to Skybar @ the Mondrian Hotel, where we partied till closing, overlooking LA. Day 6 we had a meeting @ Interscope with Ryan Odonnel regarding the Jordyn Taylor project. We got one potential song in so far that she cut, hopefully we can have couple more soon. After the meeting we finally got a chance to try Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles, and it was banging. We then went back in with Taj to finish up the song we started the day before. After the Taj session we had a session with Evan “Kidd” Bogart, DQ, and Erica, a.k.a the Writing Camp. They’re really taking over right now especially with the new Brandy single “Departed”. We’ve already had couple songs we’ve done with them in the past and it was great to finally get into a physical songwriting session. We came out with another banger to add to the archive!. Day 7 was our last day which we spent with Brent again, finishing up the track we started earlier as well as banging out a new idea we got inspired with. Overall the trip was a success and we’re really excited about all the songs we got done, cant wait to finish mixing them so we can hurry up and hopefully get them all placed soon!. Also the video from Day 3 of the OpenLabs Live Broadcast will be up either tomorrow or tuesday night, so check back for that and stay tuned. In the meantime check out all the pictures from the trip and leave us some comments, take care..

You two seem to have the game right where you want it. I get inspired by guys that do this music shit right. I like yall attitude and your music. New Orleans could use guys with your drive to get things Cracking down here.
Congrads on the success you’ve guys have been experiencing. This industry requires a lot of hardwork, but it isnt work if you enjoy what your doing. Keep It Up.
Hey thanks for all the replies guys, appreciate the support. About the hard work, its funny, cause last year when we went to LA, we felt like we worked twice as hard as we did this year, however, last year we left with only 1 song and like 3 beats done. This year felt a bit more relaxed but yet way more productive, since we walked away with 5 songs and 2 new beats. Would’ve been even more songs done if we got in all the sessions we planned, but there are always those sessions that just dont go thru last minute. Stay tuned for the video, hopefully be able to finish editing it tonight, peace.
