Mysto & Pizzi Beatmaking Live @ OpenLabs Day 2 (Walkthrough)

Hey guys, as promised, here is the footage from Day 2 of the OpenLabs Live Broadcast. This time around we did a slow r&b/pop ballad and then remixed it towards the end. We also got Dave from OpenLabs to lay down some guitars, straight into the Neko, live on the spot. This video is a bit longer and more in depth of our beatmaking process.     I was up on this a while ago, when they were getting it together… I think it’s dope as hell.. what concerns me is when something needs repairing would you have to send the whole unit in?     This sounds sick, especially the opening piano bit. I just have one thing to say, and that’s be careful not to over-produce your music! The piano line almost gets covered up by all the other synth noises, which is too bad because I really liked it but I had to search for it in the music. Songs like “where’d you go” by fort minor stick because the sadness of the piano tune could be heard. Anyway love the music, love what you guys are doing, keep doing it. Peace.

    yeah i totally agree, Pizzi does a lot of the work and when pizzi played the piano, Mysto says “WE didn’t come up with this before its all up the top, well WE? it was pizzi! and it wasn’t “simple stuff” cause not many people can play as good as pizzi. and the open hat changes the whole direction to the song! could’ve been something worth remembering. sounds like stargate/danja TOO!NOT Hating.I’m a producer/songwriter but with this account, i will stay anonymous, muhaha!

    nah its not like that there a team. which means they work together. At the same time there producers. And i guess you dont know but there is alot of other things to do when it comes to producing music. Not just making a beat. From what i see pizzi does alot of the beatmaking parts, like coming up with melodies. but mysto deals with arranging the music on the computer, quantizing etc. And when they do vocal recordings. From what i see pizzi deals with creating the beat and Mysto with vocals.

    They are semi-weighted. Just because it sounds harder or softer doesn’t mean it has weighted keys.That is actually called velocity sensitive which is a feature many non weighted keyboards have.

    Definitely true, I’ve seen pizzi do a lot of keyboard work in a couple of songs, but the entire arrangement would have been done by mysto with pizzi chillin in the back. Overall it’s extremely balanced, and I definitely applaud the symbiosis.
